On Wednesday March 15, Manchester United were bundled out of the Champions League after Atletico beat the Red Devils 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Simeone ran down the tunnel celebrating his team's win which means they advance to the Champions League Quarter finals.

Similarly the match officials went through the same predicaments, with angry Manchester United fans charging against them.

Simeone is known not to follow the post match norm of shaking hands with the opponents coach before exiting the pitch.

When the Atletico boss was asked to react to the incident where he revealed that it was a non issue which he he did not notice.

"No, when I came off the pitch, I ran because I was happy and I like to enjoy it in the dressing room.

"So I don't know what happened. What you just said, all I was thinking about was getting into the changing room to the dressing room, and I was really happy," Simeone commented.

Atletico booked themselves a slot in the Champions League Quarters after a  2-1 win on aggregate.
