Kenyan Team Seeks New Coach Days After Reinstatement

The National Olympic Committee Kenya NOC-K has announced a vacancy in the badminton team. 

The committee is seeking to appoint a coach and a team manager to guide the National badminton team as they head for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth games. 

“NOC-K is seeking to appoint a coach and team manager for the badminton team to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games,” part of the statement read.

One of the criteria for the selection of a team coach states that an applicant should hold a BWF international qualification in coaching, is an experienced former player and should have represented the country internationally. 

Another criteria that will be used in the selection of a coach requires one to have experience in coaching a team internationally. 

“Priority will also be given to persons who have participated in Olympics Kenya programs like coaching courses, Anti-Doping Course, and other Olympic or Commonwealth related courses,” part of the statement read. 

In order to land the job as a coach one is required to prove they are not aligned to any of the factions in the management of Badminton Kenya. 

“The Team manager will be a CGA Executive Committee member assisted by the top badminton player(s),” the statement read. 

Coaches interested in applying have been advised to send their CV and cover letter to info@nock.or.ke by 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022.
