Holland national team head coach Louis van Gaal has slammed FIFA for hosting the World Cup in Qatar.
The former Manchester United manager stated that it was ridiculous that the World Cup would take place in Qatar adding that there existed ulterior motives behind the decision.
van Gaal argued that the idea behind having the tourney played in the Middle East would not help football grow.

The Netherlands national team head coach made his remarks on March 21, while speaking to the press ahead of Holland's upcoming friendlies against Denmark and Germany.
van Gaal stood by his stance despite Holland having already secured their place at the 2022 Qatar.
“Everyone knows that I think it is ridiculous that the World Cup is there.
“That we are going to play in a country to allow football to develop there? ...It is about money and commercial interests. That matters in FIFA.
“Why do you think I am not on a committee with my expertise? I have always opposed those kinds of organisations.
“It is not right. I can say that in Qatar, but that does not help the world get rid of this problem,” Van Gaal noted.
The choice of Qatar hosting the World Cup was received with mixed emotions, some opposing and others applauding it.
