Kenya motorsport will from Sunday, March 27, chart a new path when an all-female crew rally will be held at Kasarani.

This will be the first all female crew rally in Kenya known as Lioness Rally, with Lisa Christoffersen being the brains behind the event.

Lissa, who is also an interior designer by profession, noted that women’s motorsport in the country has had a limited focus with rally drivers competing but without consistent events.

“This event is for women empowering women to make a difference in a male dominated world... Kenyan women have had little access to motorsport, nor indeed featured often in its history,” Lisa noted.

Lisa, who has also spent 11 years living in Denmark and a year in Switzerland, speaks fluent Danish, English, Swahili and German besides understanding Norwegian and Swedish.

She started her career as an interior designer at the age of 22, working for an Italian architect/designer refurbishing and decorating Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

Lisa grew up in Tanzania on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and is currently residing in Kenya and was attracted to rally driving by her father who was a safari rally driver in Tanzania.

During the all-female crew rally Lisa will be a participant and will be navigated by Lilian Onduko.

Besides being an investment professional, Onduko is also an adrenaline junkie and is an ultra-runner, mountain biker, and mountaineer.

The rally will have a total of 11 all-female crews who will be battling it out for the top prize at Kasarani.
