Denmark International Christian Eriksen trained with his national teammates on Thursday, March 24, months after suffering cardiac arrest.

This was the Brentford FC midfielder's first time training with the national team since suffering the cardiac arrest scare at the UEFA EURO 2020 in June 2021.

The Danish Midfielder was called to the 23 man squad set to play in two friendly matches against Netherlands and Serbia.

"I'm very happy and pleased to be back with the national team again. It has been a while and I am excited,” Eriksen noted

Eriksen's first return to competitive football came in March 2022 for Brentford in the English Premier League.

During the Group B fixture between Denmark and Finland the football world was shocked after Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest.

The then Inter Milan midfielder underwent a successful operation, was discharged from hospital on June 18, and cleared to play football.

After the successful surgery, Eriksen did not feature for any team until Brentford acquired his services on a free transfer.

In his career, Eriksen has won three league titles with Dutch giants Ajax and one Serie A title with Inter Milan in the 2020/2021 season.
