Thiago Silva Gets His Feet on Walk of Fame

Brazilian international, Thiago Silva, was on March 25 honoured on the Maracana Walk of Fame in Rio de Janeiro. 

Thiago Silva had his feet immortalised on the Maracanã Walk of Fame.

The Chelsea defender joined the likes of Pelé, Garrincha, Marta, Zagallo, Ademir Menezes, Vavá, Rivellino, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, Ronaldo, Romário, Zico, Roberto Dinamite, Gabigol and Nunes.

The Walk of Fame also has foreign names such as Eusébio, Beckenbauer, Petkovic, Ghiggia, Messi and Romerito. 

The 37-year-old defender has had a decorated football career, having played for some of the top European clubs like AC Milan, PSG and Chelsea.

Thiago, for a first time in his career, led his team to successfully win the coveted Champions League title after his free transfer to Chelsea from PSG. 

Despite his advanced age, the defender continues to dominate on the field with Chelsea extending his contract by one year to 2023.

Thiago says that he has the ability and stamina to play past the age of 40 years and wants to emulate Paolo Maldini who retired at the age of 41 years.

To remain in shape, Thiago stated that he exercises daily and strictly follows his diet.
