On Monday, March 28, four Peruvian shamans cast a spell outside the National Stadium in Lima with hopes of nullifying the effectiveness of the Paraguayan team.

Peru will face Paraguay on Tuesday, March 28 in the CONMEBOL Qualification for a spot in the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The Shamans according to the Peruvian culture are wise people who are in touch with the link between them, the spirits and nature.

“After taking ayahuasca, we have visualized the triumph of the Peruvian team. You see the joy of the people Peruvian,” One Shama noted.

The four dressed in traditional attire, performed the mystical ceremony while donning Peruvian shirts and with them were photographs of both teams.

The healers while conducting the spell placed wooden amulets on the photograph of the Paraguayan team to neutralize their performance.

“We have made a ritual against Paraguay so that they do not have a good performance in their game. Be clumsy with each other so that Peru comes out the winner,” another Shamans noted.

At the beginning of the spell cast, one of the shamans blew something close to a trumpet in front of the Stadium as the Peruvian players were training.

Peru will be playing at home as they are positioned fifth with 21 points in the South American World Cup table.

If Peru wins, they will be halfway to reaching the Qatar World cup as they would have to face an Asian team before qualification.

A draw or a loss can also favour Peru but only if Colombia and Chile fail to get points as both have 20 and 19 points respectively.

After qualifying for the 2018 World Cup Peru ended their 36-year absence in a World Cup and will hope to qualify this time around.
