Jamal Ibrahim is Kenya's top football agent responsible for some of the huge transfer deals of Kenyan footballers to Europe.
At the age of 22, Jamal got a chance to travel to Sweden where he played in the third-tier league before hanging his boots to focus on education and work.
In an exclusive interview, the retired footballer told Teamkenya.co.ke that the experience inspired him to start his own sports management firm back in 2014 known as Atoto Sports Management.

He has mostly taken many Kenyan football players to Sweden with the likes of Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma who plays for top tier league side AIK Fotbal.
Other players, he has helped transfer include Henry Meja, Collins Shichenje, Mohamed Katana and most of the Kenyans playing in Sweden.
“We call clubs to come to see our local players play in our leagues, the scouts then approach us to enquire on a certain player then I help in the transfer process,” Jamal told Teamkenya.co.ke.
He noted that he works with most clubs in Sweden but AIK Fotbal is the club he is mainly attached to.
He also represents players from other countries like Uganda and Sweden but he focuses mostly on Kenya as it's his home country.
“We have a player in Sweden, Uganda and Kenya but Kenya is much easier because it is home and I know how the league goes on,” he added.
He pointed out that among the challenges of being a football agent is getting a good football player.
Getting a good player is hard and also another big challenge is when you find a player has been signed by a local manager who wants funds and we don’t have the money to pay them,” he pointed out.
On any upcoming transfers, the super-agent noted that in the coming days they would be announcing the transfer of a young Kenyan footballer to Europe.
“We have a young player we are talking to a club in Spain in the coming days, I will not mention his name and that of the club but it will happen soon,”
He noted that in the transfer process he as an agent has his own fee known as the Agent fee which he receives from the club.
