Kenya has been given until May 2022, to have the ban imposed by FIFA lifted lest they miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Kenya risks missing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations if the current suspension will stay, two weeks before the qualifiers scheduled for July 2022.

Also given the same ultimatum is Zimbabwe, which was also suspended alongside Kenya, with FIFA citing government interference in local football management.
"In case the suspension is not lifted two weeks before the matchday of the qualifiers, both associations will be considered as losers and eliminated from the competition.
"Consequently, their groups will be composed of three teams. The first and the runners-up of groups of these teams will qualify to the final tournament,” said part of the communication from CAF.
Sports Cabinet Secretary, Amina Mohamed, in the past noted that they will not be in a hurry to engage FIFA adding that first their needs to be cleaned up in Kenyan football.
A total of 48 teams qualified to participate in the second round of the TotalEnergies AFCON, Cote D'Ivoire 2023 qualifiers and have been seeded into four pots of 12 teams.
The teams that will qualify for the final tournament are the first and the runner-up of the 11 groups where the host Ivory Coast will not be playing.
Ivory Coast as the host automatically qualifies despite their results meaning that if they as the host are ranked first, they qualify in addition to the second of the group.
If they finish second, they qualify in addition to the first of the group and if they finish third or fourth, they qualify in addition to the first of the group.
