Didier Drogba has been cleared to contest for the presidency of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) alongside five other candidates.
The elections, set to be conducted on April 23, were postponed way back in 2020.
Didier Drogba joins the likes of Jean Baptiste Yate, Arnaud Aka, Laurent Kouakou, Idriss Diallo and Sory Diabate.

Drogba after submitting his forms formally on Monday, April 11 reiterated his desire to change the face of football in Ivory Coast.
Back in 2020 FIFA had placed the FIF under supervision installing a "Normalisation Committee" to try to resolve the crisis.
Drogba faces a tough test despite his football status as reports suggest that he lacks support from Ivorian clubs.
The list of contestants will be published on April 15, with the president of the FIF normalisation committee, Mariam Dao Gabala promising a credible, free and fair exercise.
"We are ready for these elections and we must show a good image of Cote d'Ivoire through a peaceful election. I ask everyone not to add to the crisis,” Gabala noted.
Drogba, 44, is renowned for his scintillating career at Chelsea, where he became the top foreign top scorer and also Chelsea’s fourth-highest goalscorer of all time.
The Ex-Ivorian International played for his nation between 2002 and 2014, and captain the national team from 2006 until his retirement in 2018, having been the nation's all-time top goalscorer with 65 goals from 105 appearances.
He is seeking to lead his country's football federation following in the steps of former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o who currently is the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation.
