The Ricketts family has withdrawn its bid to buy Chelsea.
The owners of the Chicago Cubs and their partners decided not to submit a final bid for the Blues, after consortium members failed to agree on the final composition of the Ricketts' offer.
Final bids were due to be submitted to New York merchant bank, The Raine Group, on Thursday, April 14, but the Ricketts-led group has now withdrawn its candidacy.

“The Ricketts-Griffin-Gilbert group has decided, after careful consideration, not to submit a final bid for Chelsea FC.
“In the process of finalising the proposal, it became increasingly clear that certain issues could not be addressed given the unusual dynamics around the sales process.
“We have great admiration for Chelsea and its fans and we wish the new owners well,” read the Ricketts family statement.
After the withdrawal by The Ricketts, LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly, Sir Martin Broughton, and Boston Celtics co-owner, Steve Pagliuca, are the three remaining bidders for Chelsea.
The Ricketts' have been facing opposition from the Blues fanbase over family patriarch Joe Ricketts' historic emails dating back to 2019.
The opposition grew to an extent that some club supporters staged small demonstrations at Stamford Bridge, demanding the Ricketts family proves an inclusive and diverse bid to buy the London-based club.
Chelsea was put on sale on March 2 by Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich, amid Russia's continued invasion of Ukraine.
The 55-year-old billionaire has been sanctioned by the UK Government for his links to Vladimir Putin.
Chelsea are operating under a special Government licence as the club is not allowed to generate any revenue whatsoever.
The Chelsea owner cannot profit from Chelsea's sale, but had given his commitment to write off the club's debt.
