Manchester City has unveiled a statue of Sergio Aguero to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of the iconic ‘93:20’ moment of 2012.

The huge statue was unveiled outside of the Etihad Stadium on Friday, May 13, in presence of the football legend.

His last goal against Queens Park Rangers in the 2011/12 season ended City’s 44-year wait for a title triumph in the most spectacular manner.

The Argentine legend's strike is largely recognized as the greatest moment in Premier League history.

The statue depicts the iconic image of Aguero wheeling away in celebration while clenching his Manchester City shirt, after writing his name into the football history books.

“It’s fantastic, I’m very happy for this statue it is special,” he stated.

“That moment changed my life it is the best moment of my life and will forever be in my heart,” Aguero recalled the most famous moment in Premier League history.

Aguero becomes the third player to be recognized with a statue alongside Vincent Kompany and David Silva.

Interestingly Aguero’s statue was curved by Andy Scott, the sculptor behind both Vincent and Silva’s statutes.

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has taken delight in the statue honoring the Argentine international.

Guardiola’s famous tearful interview reacting to Sergio Aguero’s exit from the blue side of Manchester highlighted just how highly he regarded the club legend.

“More than deserved, a great honor for Sergio (Aguero) and his family. An icon of this club, of course with a great anniversary of the goal he scored in 93 minutes. Not just for that, for all his career here,” Guardiola commented.

The 33-year-old Aguero currently runs an eSports company, Aguero has spoken about his future to Argentine media, where he has confirmed he intends to join the Argentine coaching staff ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
