Crystal Palace head coach, Patrick Vieira, was involved in an altercation with an Everton fan who stormed the Goodison Park stadium to celebrate his team’s 3 - 2 win against Palace.
Vieira was first spotted walking across the stadium with the Everton fan screaming and trolling him in the face.
The former Arsenal captain, who was upset after seeing his team lose a 2 - 0 lead, kicked and tackled the fan in return as stewards intervened.
Everton needed the 3 points to survive relegation and a turnaround in the second half with goals scored by Michael Kean, Richarlison, and Calvert-Lewin ensured The Toffees remained afloat.
Crystal Palace’s two first-half goals were scored by Jean-Philippe Mateta and Andrew Ayew, with the latter scoring two minutes after he was nearly sent off for a dangerous tackle on Anthony Gordon.
Referee Anthony Taylor issued a yellow card for the tackle which was confirmed by VAR Check.
When asked about the altercation with the fan, Vieira responded by stating: "I've got nothing to say about that."
He, however, encouraged his team to pick itself up in their last game of the season against Manchester United on Sunday.
Vieira also lauded referee Anthony Taylor for officiating the match well despite pressure from both quarters.
Meanwhile, Everton head coach, Frank Lampard, sympathised with Vieira and praised his team for surviving relegation.
“I feel for Patrick and I didn't get him [to shake hands] at the end because of the reaction. He ran across the pitch 80 yards in front of our fans but there's no issue. Just pure elation from our fans at staying in the league."
