The UEFA Champions League is undoubtedly one of the most decorated Europen competitions in the world if not the best.

At the centre of the competition, which stretches for months, is a Ksh2.6 billion cash reward that is given to the winner.

The loser in the final match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will also walk away with Ksh2 billion.

Manchester City and Benfica who lost to Real Madrid and Liverpool consecutively will also receive their cash prize of Ksh1.6 billion.

Each team that won in the UEFA champions league group stages will roughly pocket Ksh370 million per match.

Liverpool will hope to seal revenge against Real Madrid, a team that outsmarted them in the 2018 final when they clash at the State de France Stadium in France tonight.

The Reds have won the competition six times whilst Los Blancos have a better record with 13 UCL trophies.

Jurgen Klopp's side has beaten Inter Milan, Benfica, and Villareal in the knockout stages to reach the final.

Madrid on the other hand, led by Carlo Ancelloti, has had it harder playing the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Paris Saint Germain along the way.

In 2018 at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kyiv, Ukraine, Welsh forward, Gareth Bale scored a brace that helped Madrid overpower Liverpool to a 3-1 victory.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah will specifically be seeking to revenge after he suffered a shoulder injury that saw him withdrawn in the early minutes of the game.

“Because we lost in the final before against them. So I want to play against them, hopefully, win it against them as well," Salah stated before the Man City Real game.

On the other hand, Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid Winger, noted that the game will prove which is the best team in the European competition.

'Hopefully, they play with all of them. We want an amazing match between two teams with all their players. With 100 per cent concentration. And both fighting for the most important thing, which is the Champions League.

We watch a lot of Liverpool games. They are a great team with a lot of strength and a lot of intensity. If we match that against them... we will win for sure," Vinicius stated.

The match was originally announced to be played at the Krestovsky Stadium, otherwise known as the Gazprom Arena, in St Petersburg, Russia., but was moved due to the invasion of Ukraine.

The last time Liverpool trounced Madrid in a European final was in 1981 in Paris, where Alan Kennedy scored the only goal.

Here is Real Madrid's Line up that will be facing Liverpool in the final:

Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy, Kross, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Vinicus Jr, Benzema
