A fighting incident ensued between Everton's Richarlison and Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr happened during a training session ahead of Brazil's friendly against Japan in Tokyo on Monday, June 5.

The Brazilian international had to be separated after coming to blows during a heated training session on Saturday, June 5.

The cause of the altercation remains unclear but the stormy affair began with Everton's forward grabbing hold of Vinicius by his training shirt.

Their elder colleagues - Neymar and Dani Alves - stepped in to calm the situation.

Their intervention made Richarlison angrier making Neymar put his hands around his neck to keep him away from Vinicius.

Eventually, the players were separated from each other and both went their separate ways

It is not Richarlison's first time to be embroiled in controversy after a heated exchange with pundit Jamie Carragher.

"Wash your mouth before you talk about me and Everton and I don’t respect you," Richarlison told Carragher after he claimed the Brazillian is hot-tempered.

For Vinicius who scored the winning goal in the Champions League final, it is an unfortunate incident for the youngster still swimming in Champions League glory.

The 21-year-old scored the only goal for Real Madrid in Paris to give the Spanish side their 14th title in the competition.

Brazil will face off with Japan in Tokyo hoping to carry on their Thursday's 5-1 win over South Korea.
