2021 La Liga champions, Real Madrid, have signed highly talented midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, for Ksh12 billion from French side, AS Monaco.

Madrid announced the signing of the 22-year-old in a statement dated Saturday, June 11 hours after successfully completing his medical

The Los Blancos boys announced that Tchouameni will be unveiled at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium next week after returning from holiday.

"Next Tuesday, June 14, at 1 pm the presentation of Tchouameni will take place, after the corresponding medical examination. #WelcomeTchouaméni," Real Madrid announced.

It is reported that the initial cost was Ksh9.9 billion, however, the cost will rise to the Ksh12 billion mark because of add-ons.

The announcement by Madrid comes after weeks of negotiations as Tchouameni was their main man this summer as Carlo Ancelotti seeks to rebuild the team around youngsters such as Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Silva, and Eduardo Camavinga

It is believed that Tchouameni will play alongside Toni Kroos and Luca Modric in a 4-3-3 formation.

However, the signing of Tchouameni was not good news for all Madrid fans as his entry could see Marco Asensio leave the Laliga Champions after six years at the club.

Reports indicate that Manchester United has started negotiations with the Spanish midfielder with the aim of bringing the 26-year-old to the English Premier League.

Nonetheless, transfer Guru Fabrizio Romani reported that the midfielder would negotiate for a better contract with the aim of fighting for his place in the first eleven,

"Marco Asensio's new agent Jorge Mendes will discuss with Real Madrid his contract in the coming days. Asensio wants to stay but it depends on the financial proposal.

"He's already been approached by many clubs. The current deal runs out in June 2023," he stated.
