Kenya Fails to Improve in Latest Fifa Rankings

World football governing body FIFA has announced its latest global ranking of different countries. 

The August 2022 edition of FIFA World Ranking had minor changes with only two African countries registering some improvement. 

Kenya still maintained its position,102, despite being banned by FIFA from participating in all football activities back in February 2022.

FIFA suspended Kenya because of government interference with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF). For the suspension to be lifted the government was asked to repeal the decision to disband FKF. 

Botswana and Mauritania made the biggest movement in ranking. Both nations improved by three places. 

Mauritania who were ranked at position 110 are now 107 with Botswana improving from 149 to 146. World Cup host Qatar improved its ranking from 49 to 48. 

Other African countries that have improved in their ranking include Mozambique and Angola at 116 and 129. 

Senegal have however dropped their points despite them being the African Champions as Somalia dropped in their ranking by four positions. 

The top three positions have remained intact with Brazil, Belgium and Argentina taking positions one two and three respectively.
