Serena Williams will partner with her sister Venus Williams in the final tournament of her glittering career at the upcoming 2022 US Open scheduled for Monday, August 29 to Sunday, September 11.
The tournament organizers said the legendary duo had agreed to team up, bringing together one of the most powerful partnerships tennis has ever seen for the final time.
“Serena and Venus on the same court. The 2x #USOpen women's doubles champions have accepted a wild card,” read their Twitter post.

They last partnered at the 2018 French Open where they were bundled out in the round of 16 by Andreja Dlepac and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Dlepac and Sanchez won the match in straight sets.
The Americans have won 14 doubles together since registering their maiden victory at the 1999 French Open.
Serena, a 23-time Grand Slams singles champion, announced earlier this month that she would end her career at Flushing Meadows.

Apart from playing the doubles together, Serena and Venus will also feature in the singles event with the former set to play Danka Kovinic while her elder sister will square it out with Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium.
The 40-year-old Serena, who is widely recognized as one of the best tennis players of all time, is the second most decorated female player in tennis history behind Margaret Court who has 24 grand slams titles.
She made her professional debut at the tender age of 14 in 1995 and went on to bag her first grand slam title in 1999 at the US Open.
