Kenya Police FC will continue with their stay in Rwanda despite not being allowed to feature in their earlier planned friendly matches.
According to the team manager George Maelo, his side will not play any friendly match in Rwanda. The Police match against Rayon Sports was canceled on Saturday, August 27.
The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) warned FIFA-affiliated referees against officiating matches involving clubs from suspended federations.

With no friendly match ahead, Police who arrived in Rwanda on Thursday, August 24, will carry on with the training in Kigali as they finish their ten-day friendly tour.
“Due to the FIFA suspension, we are not able to play the friendly matches we were planning to because the referees here are FIFA affiliates and they don’t want to risk.
“However, we are still holding our training sessions without any distraction. It is also a good opportunity for the players to bond and know each other well without usual distractions back home so we believe this camp will still yield fruits in the team,” Maelo stated.
The manager added that head coach Sammy Omollo joined up with the rest of the team in Kigali, after recovering from a back injury.
“The coach has joined the team and he is taking charge of the training alongside his assistant and so far he is impressed with the work that is going on here. We believe the season will be a success for the team,” Maelo stated.
In the 2021/2022 FKF League, Kenya Police FC finished eighth and would be aiming to improve at the incoming 2022/2023 campaign.
