
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has banned Kenyan athlete, Vane Nyaboke Nyanamba, for 7 years and four months for the use of prohibited substances.
Nyaboke was found guilty of using Norandrostone and her ban will be active until December 28, 2028.
Her competitive results from August 9, 2021, were disqualified and she was also ordered to forfeit any medals, points and prize money acquired since.

“The AIU has banned Kenyan athlete Vane Nyaboke Nyanamba for the Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Norandrosterone) (Article 2.1 and Article 2.2) and for Tampering with any part of Doping Control by an Athlete (Article 2.5),” the statement from AIU read.
The last official completion that Nyaboke took part in was on November 7, 2021, when she finished fifth in the Barcelona Marathon.
According to the AIU Nyaboke was issued with a Notice of Charge on December 21, 2021, confirming that she was charged with Anti-Doping Rule Violations and tempering of results management.
Nyaboke was also informed that she would be banned for eight years. The 28-year-old admitted the Anti-Doping Violations (ADRVs) on March 5, 2022.
After her admission, the AIU, Athlete and the World Anti-Doping Agency later entered into a Case Resolution Agreement. All parties agreed to reduce the period of Ineligibility by eight months to a total of seven years and four months after taking the evidence into consideration.
Nyaboke was also barred from appealing the case.
