
The FC Barcelona versus Cadiz La Liga match was halted for more than one hour on Sunday night at Nuevo Mirandilla stadium due to a medical emergency.
According to FC Barcelona, the emergency was caused by a fan who had collapsed during the match.
“The game has been stopped due to a medical emergency with a fan in the stands. The players are going to the locker rooms,” read a twitter statement from the club.

Barcelona were leading 2-0 in the 81st minute thanks to well taken goals from Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski before a fan collapsed.
Some of the players including Cadiz defender Rafael Jiménez Jarque and his FC Barcelona counterpart Ronaldo Araujo could be seen praying while others stood in shock.
Cadiz shot stopper Jeremias Conan Ledesma sprinted with the medical kit towards the stands and delivered it to a concerned individual.
His teammate Jose Mari could also be seen running towards the touchline with a stretcher.
After more than 20 minutes' wait, the referee asked the players to go back to their changing rooms and they returned after the fan had been stabilized and taken to a nearby hospital for further assessments.
Barcelona went on to win the match 4-0 thanks to two late goals courtesy of Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele.
Manuel Vizcaino, the Cadiz President later issued a statement stating that the affected fan was out of danger.
"The fan regained the pulse, and has been brought into an ambulance. He was revived, fell ill again, but eventually stabilized," he told Tiempo de Juego.
