Wilfred Ndindi has slammed beIN Sports Commentator Sulaiman Folarin, for claiming that the Leicester City star does not want to play as a centre-back for Nigeria.
Folarin in his tweet of September 22, 2022, claimed that Ndindi was upset about the position in which the Super Eagles coach wanted him to play.
He also alleged that Ndidi suffered an injury and left the Super Eagles camp to return to England.
“Sources on Ndidi injury: Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro wants to play Wilfred Ndidi at centre back against Algeria. Ndidi is upset about this. He wants to play in the midfield. Next thing, Ndidi has an undisclosed injury, out of the squad and returns to England,” Folarin’s Tweet read.

Ndidi, however, replied noting that the football commentator did not countercheck his sources.
“How sure are you? Did you ask questions? Did you check your facts, No! you just decided to tweet… bravo you did yourself, proud sir,” Ndindi replied.
According to the Super Eagles head coach José Peseiro, Leicester’s fitness coach communicated with their counterparts in Nigeria raising concerns about an injury Ndidi incurred in the Foxes' last match.
Pesieiro noted that the Leicester midfielder felt like he had an arm string noting that he does not believe in using a player who is at risk of getting an injury for a friendly game.
In a tweet post, Nigeria Football Federation noted that Ndindi was allowed to return to Leicester on September 22.
“Nigeria Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is injured and out of the game against Algeria.
"He has left the team’s camp and returned to England. Get well soon Wilfred,” the tweet read.
