
Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp and his Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola are among the finalists for the 2022 manager of the season award in the Northwest Football Awards.
The Reds broke the news on their social media platform on Monday evening, September 26 stating that Klopp and Matt Beard are in contention for the award alongside Guardiola.
“Jürgen Klopp and Matt Beard have been nominated for Manager of the Season in the 2022 Northwest Football Awards.

“The pair are finalists for the Manager of the Season accolade, alongside Dave Challinor (Stockport County), Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Leam Richardson (Wigan Athletic),” read a statement from the Merseyside club.
Beard is Liverpool’s women’s football head coach. He ditched the club in 2015 for Bristol City before returning in May 2021.
The experienced manager helped Liverpool bag the FA Women’s Championships title in the 2021/2022 season. He also guided the club back to the English top flight league the same season.
The 44-year-old recently helped the Reds beat title holders Chelsea ladies 2-1 in a Women’s Super League match.
Klopp on the other hand had a great campaign with the Liverpool’s men’s team last season helping them win various trophies.
Apart from clinching the FA and Carabao Cups, the Germany tactician also guided the club to a second place finish in both the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.
Guardiola not only won the English Premier League title with Manchester City last season but also helped them reach the UEFA Champions League semifinal where they were bundled out by the eventual winners Real Madrid.
The winners of the award will be announced in a ceremony scheduled to take place on Monday, November 7.
