Meru Bombers officials have allowed the upcoming #RugerinMeru concert to proceed after discussions following a complaint about the use of Kinoru Stadium.

In a club letter dated October 5, 2022, the Division Two League club noted that the event organisers presented to them the thinking behind the concert, the processes they went through to take it to Meru and the benefits it would bring to the locals.

The Meru-based club noted that their concern was the team not being allowed to use the stadium despite it being their home ground.

“Satisfied with all the measures they have put in place and the benefits the #RugerinMeru concert will bring to Meru and our people, we have chosen to withdraw our demand letter and fully support the concert,” part of the letter read.

In the club's statement, it was noted that Meru Bombers were impressed with the measures that had  been put in place by the organisers to address the concerns.

It was also noted that the organisers demonstrated to them their Global Code of Business Conduct and Business Integrity program.

“They (event organisers) equally have a strong system that is accessible to all that deals with concerns about compliance to the law, their Code, global policies or standards and any other compliance or ethics matters,’ part of the statement read.

Meru Bombers said both parties agreed on a win-win solution as they share a common desire for the development and growth of talent.

“Both parties will officially meet in the days after the concert to discuss proposals on a sustainable support system of football in Meru and in developing Kinoru Stadium as a landmark sports and entertainment destination in Kenya,” the statement read.
