
Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Mugubi Wanyama helped CF Montreal to set two new records in their 3-1 win against Miami in their final match of the regular season on Monday, October 10, 2022.
For the first time ever in their history, CF Montreal managed to register seven consecutive wins in a season.
In addition, the win also enabled the Major League Soccer (MLS) club to pick up their 20th win of the season, the highest among the teams that took part in the Eastern conference league.

The 31-year-old, who is the skipper of the Canadian-based club, took to social media to break the news.
"Glad to be part of this incredible record-breaking campaign, a lot more to come," read a statement from the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
Lassi Lappalainen, Djordje Mihailovic and Kei Kamara were on target for CF Montreal in a match played at DRV PNK Stadium.
CF Montreal managed to secure a second-place finish in the Eastern Association behind winners Philadelphia. The latter amassed 67 points while Montreal bagged 65 points.
Wanyama, who has previously featured for Celtic, was also nominated for the defensive player of the year award.
His attention now shifts to Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs where they are scheduled to battle it out with Orlando City in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. The date for the encounter is yet to be confirmed.
Wanyama disclosed a few days ago that he will part ways with CF Montreal at the end of the season after playing for the club for two years.
The Kamukunji High School alumni joined the club in 2020 after an impressive stint with Tottenham. He also featured for Nairobi City Stars and Southampton in the past.
