Paris Saint-Germain has been accused by a French media outlet Mediapart of hiring a team of social media influencers to insult a number of its stars, among them Kylian Mbappe and Adrien Rabiot.
According to an article published by Mediapart on October 12, 2022, PSG allegedly hired a firm to discredit Mbappe back in 2019 when there were talks of him wanting to make an exit from the multiple French Champions.
“PSG commissioned an external agency to create an “army” of fake Twitter accounts which carried out violent and filthy campaigns, in particular against the media and personalities of the club.

“Mediapart is one of its preferred targets. Even Mbappe was scratched,” read part of the article.
It is alleged that the digital army was set up by PSG director of communication Jean-Martial Ribes.
According to Ben Jacobs, a CBS Sports Golazo journalist, PSG denied the claims when contacted.
“Paris Saint-Germain completely and totally denies the claims of Mediapart. The Club has never contracted with an agency to undermine any person or institution,” his tweet read.
Mbappe's future at the club was reported to be in doubt as speculations went strife that the 23-year-old is set to leave in the next transfer window.
The former Monaco player is reported to be unhappy with the club’s management for failing to honour the promises that they made to him earlier this year, before convincing him to extend his contract.
Mbappe, who was linked with UEFA Champions League record winners Real Madrid, signed the most expensive deal in May this year, making him the highest-paid player in the world.
