The 18-year-old has participated in a number of high-profile tournaments in different corners of the world including the US Open, Australian Open, French Open and the Wimbledon Open.

She had good runs at the above tournaments, winning her maiden Grand Slams title at the England-based Wimbledon Open in July.

Okutoyi won the historic title alongside Rose Nijkamp who hails from the Netherlands after overpowering Canadian players in the final.

The good performances that she registered this year enabled her to land lucrative deals including an education scholarship from Auburn University, an institution located in Alabama, United States.

Prior to the education scholarship, the Karen Country Club had granted Okutoyi and her twin sibling Roselida Asumwa a 3-year membership deal.

Okutoyi will start taking part in international senior tournaments from next year since she will be turning 19 years old on January 29.

We might see her playing top tennis players such as Japanese international Naomi Osaka, Ons Jabeur from Tunisia and American star Coco Gauff.
