Kenya’s dream of participating in table tennis at the Tokyo Olympic Games came to an end in Doha Qatar after all players were knocked out of the qualifiers.

The players joined their African counterparts, who were also knocked out of the tough qualifiers held in the Gulf.

In the Men Singles Kenya’s top seed Brian Mutua lost 0-4 to Jancarik Lubomir of Czech Republic.

Josiah Wandera lost 0-4 to Tanviriyavechakul Padasak of Thailand.

In the Ladies Singles, our top player Doreen Juma could not stop Dvorak Galia of Spain and lost 0-4

All hopes of moving to the next round we’re completely dashed, when the only remaining player Lydia Setey was also defeated with the same margin of 0-4 to Trigolos Daria of Belarus.

The effect of not being able to take part in competitive events back at home and internationally, could be seen in all players who participated in the qualifiers.

The Kenya National Team returns to the Country on Thursday midnight.
