
Patrick Kipng’eno finished first to win Gold at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships 2022 in Thailand.
Coming in at second was fellow compatriot Philemon Kiriago who walked away with a silver medal, as Spain's Alejandro Gracia came in at third.

The 12.2km race on Friday morning, November 4, is part of a three-day festival, the first-ever joint World Mountain and Trail Running Championships.
Kipng’eno entered the race as the Mountain Running World Cup defending champion.
Kenya had only registered three athletes for the event Kipng’eno, Kiragio and Joyce Njeru for the event.
Joyce Njeru finished the race positioned 35 with a time of 1:06:15.
The three Kenyan athletes had been registered for two races, the 8km vertical uphill and the 11km classic up and down for senior athletes.
Their next race, Classic up and down, will be on Sunday, November 6.
The inaugural championships are a collaboration between World Athletics, the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) and the International Trail Running Association (ITRA).
