Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has penned a deal with Chelmsford Ice Hockey club after parting ways with Guildford Phoenix.
The 40-year-old played his first match for Chelmsford on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
Cech, who also had a stint with Arsenal FC helped Guildford Phoenix bag a treble last season.

The Czech Republic international was praised by Chelmsford head coach Mark Saunders for his heroic displays.
“Having a netminder of Petr’s quality and experience come into our squad is a huge boost for us right now.
“He brings a winning mentality, a desire to compete every single time he’s on the ice, and we look forward to seeing him add to our group this season,” he told BBC Sport.
It was recently revealed that Petr trained with Guildford Phoenix for over six years while still playing professional football, without Chelsea and Arsenal knowing about it.
Cech is among the greatest shot stoppers in the rich English Premier League (EPL) history alongside the likes of former Danish star Peter Schmeichel.
He won numerous titles with Chelsea including 4 EPL titles, 4 FA Cup titles and an UEFA Champions League title before ditching the Blues for rivals Arsenal in 2015.
Petr hung his football boots in 2019 after playing more than 780 games for various clubs. Immediately after announcing his retirement, Chelsea gave him a technical advisor job.
He served in that capacity until June, 2022 when he stepped down after the club was sold to American businessman Todd Boehly.
