“I think La Liga when we played against Real Madrid, Varane was quite big and solid, also during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) against Koulibaly, he is also big, strong and reads the game very well.
“When you are playing in this top level you face defenders who can read the game not only physically big at the end of the day it is who can outsmart the other one,” Olunga noted.
The Harambee Stars captain also revealed that Santiago Bernabeu is the best stadium that he has ever played at recalling the 2018, 6-3 loss to Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old is currently in Kenya for his holiday after the Qatar League took a break because of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He touched on Kenya's current state with FIFA terming it as a bad situation for the country.
Olunga asked Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba to end the stalemate to allow the resumption of football activities.
The prolific striker noted that with Kenya being locked out of the AFCON 2023 qualifiers, the players had missed so many opportunities.
“You can have so many talented players in the country but without the visibility and exposure, it is going to be a waste of a good generation of football players,” Olunga noted.
