Australia had never led in their last 17 World Cup matches before Tunisia.

The win also ended their seven-match winless run at the international level.

A spirited performance from Australia's defence and goalkeeper helped the team keep a clean sheet which was the country’s second in the World Cup tournaments.

Their first clean sheet was against Chile on June 22, 1974.

Duke, who was the man of the match attributed the win to their team's performance.

"Honestly, I would go to war with these boys. A huge shift by the lads, keeping the clean sheet and getting the result. We fought till the end everyone gave 110 percent and that's all you can ask for,” Duke stated.

Manchester United and Tunisia midfielder Hannibal Mejbri who was an unused substitute noted that his nation must win against the reigning world Champions, France.
