Liverpool's Steven Gerrard and Manchester United's David Beckham have become the latest inductees to the maiden class of the Premier League‘s Hall of Fame after a fabulous career for their childhood clubs that served as their homes while at the prime of their career.

The Hall of Fame was introduced this year to commemorate the top-flight’s greatest ever players since its inception in 1992.

Gerrard’s career is one of wonder having graduated from Liverpool’s academy to feature 504 times in the Premier League and managed a total of 120 goals and 92 assists for the Merseyside Red.

Gerrard was named in the PFA Team of the Year on eight different occasions, was the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2000/01, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2005/06 and the FWA Footballer of the Year in 2008/09 among other honours.

The former captains now take their place after a fan and panel vote, with Gerrard joining Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard and Dennis Bergkamp from a 23-man shortlist.

Gerrard has had an amazing career both as a player and as a head coach where he manages the Scotish side Rangers FC who recently won the Scottish premier league.

Despite not winning any premier league for his boyhood club, the Liverpool legend remains celebrated at Anfield for having led the club to becoming European Giants after winning the historic 2004/2005 UEFA Champions league.

David Beckham on the other end, formed part of the Red Devils' fabled Class of '92, won six league titles during his time at Old Trafford, as well as two FA Cups and the Champions League.

He was famed for his pinpoint passing and crossing ability, with 18 top-flight goals recorded from trademark free-kicks - a record at the highest level in England that still stands to this day.

He made his Premier League debut in 1995 and went on to make 265 appearances, scoring 62 goals and registering 80 assists - the ninth-highest figure in the competition's history.

Beckham not only announced himself as one of the world's most high-profile sports personalities during his playing era, he also became the only English player to win championships in four countries.

While he won a La Liga title and Spanish Cup with Real, a French title with PSG and enjoyed success with the Galaxy in the US, the most trophy-laden period of his career was with United.

He was part of their treble winning side of 1999, in which they won the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League title.
