Sergio Agüero has agreed to sign for Barcelona on a two-year contract when his Manchester City deal expires next month. The striker’s preference was to move to Camp Nou after his contract expires at the Etihad .
Agüero, who will be 33 when next season starts, has been troubled in this season's campaign by injuries which have restricted him to 18 appearances and four goals.
The Argentinian forward hopes to make a farewell Etihad Stadium appearance against Everton on Sunday and to play in the Champions League final on May 29.
The City record scorer will be departing from the club headed to Spain after an amazing career run with the cityzens.Aguero will be expected to join the Spanish giants alongside Memphis Depay whose contract expires next month at Lyon.Barcelona have showcased interest in signing the Dutch man.
After 10 years, 258 goals and five Premier League titles, the Argentine striker will play his last game at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday ,May 23 against Everton and will go down as the club's legend.
Aguero however is familiar with the Spanish La Liga as he featured for Atletico Madrid before settling in Man city.
He will be expected to play for Barcelona alongside his national teammate Lionel Messi in case he doesn't leave the club by the end of the season.
The striker will also be looking forward to shaping the club's fortune as it has been in woes in the recent past.
