“Little secret. Tonight, I presented Sportsday for the last time as a BBC staff presenter. I’ve decided to leave the security blanket behind and embrace the rollercoaster journey of freelance life. It’s almost 12 years to the day since I moved from Ireland to work for the BBC,’ part of her tweet read.
Mulkerrins noted that working at BBC was one of her dreams and was thankful to have worked for the British media.
She also revealed that she was doing only one episode of her sports podcast before taking a break.
“Hopefully, I might still pop up on your screens if you and the bosses will have me. But for now, there is one more episode of the Sports Desk podcast, then some rest, more house renovations and let us see after that! love the BBC,” her tweet read.
She began her career at Setanta Sports in Ireland where she did the coverage of football, rugby, and GAA for two years and seven months.
In the two years, she worked as an Assistant Producer and Video Journalist.
