Deadline day is usually one of the tensest periods during football transfer windows.
Fans spent most of their time scrolling through their social media accounts to see if their clubs have acquired the services of new players.
Others go to the point of tracking planes that their club’s targets are travelling on until it reaches the intended destination while others sit in groups discussing the pros and cons of singing a particular footballer.

TeamKenya.co.ke has compiled a list of the most expensive deals that were struck on deadline days during the past January transfer windows.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the most expensive January deadline-day transfer signing.
He signed for Arsenal during the 2018 winter transfer window from Borussia Dortmund on a £56m (approximately Ksh 8.6 billion) transfer deal.
Aubameyang had won the golden boot in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga race and was thus in demand.
At that time Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side was struggling to score goals, with its main attacker Olivier Giroud missing multiple chances.
Bruno Fernandes
Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes is the second most expensive January deadline-day signing in the history of the Premier League.
He was signed by ex-Manchester United tactician Ole Gunnar Solskjær from Sporting Lisbon for £54m (approximately Ksh8.3 billion) transfer fee from Sporting Lisbon on January 2020.
Although Fernandes is yet to win a major title at Old Trafford, he has gone on to become one of the dependable players for the Red Devils.
Fernando Torres
Fernando Torres become the most expensive Spanish player ever in the history of the Premier League when he joined Chelsea from Liverpool on the transfer deadline day in January 2011.
Jose Mourinho, who was the then Chelsea manager, ensured the completion of the £50m (approximately Ksh7.7 billion) transfer deal.
Andy Carroll
Andy Carroll joined Merseyside Liverpool FC from New Castle United on the last day of the January transfer window in 2011.
The £35m (approximately Ksh5.4 billion) that the Reds paid for him was the highest spend on a British player.
However, despite arriving at Liverpool in the form of his life, Carroll went on to disappoint most of the Reds’ supporters, scoring only 11 goals in over 50 appearances.
Willian Borges da Silva
Brazilian winger Willian Borges da Silva left Shaktar Donestk for the Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in January 2013 for a whopping £30m (approximately Ksh3.7 billion) transfer fee on the deadline day.
Chelsea was interested in him but Willian turned them down and opted for the Russian side. However, it did not take long before Chelsea acquired his signature.
