Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte showed another side of him after Harry Kane’s record-breaking goal helped his side beat defending champions Manchester City 1-0 at home.

Kane’s goal, which was scored in the 14th minute after a blunder from City midfielder Rodrigo Hernández Cascante popularly known as Rodri made him the club’s all-time top scorer.

The England international broke the late Jimmy Greaves's club record which stood for more than 50 years and also made him join an elite class of stars who have scored more than 200 Premier League goals.

Ex-Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and New Castle’s legendary player Alan Shearer are the only other players who have amassed over 200 goals in one of the most followed leagues in the world.

Kane’s goal not only won Spurs three vital points but also touched the hearts of many, both inside and outside the club.

Significantly, it made Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte, who missed the game because of gall bladder surgery very happy.

After Kane’s teammates congratulated him in the dressing room, Conte, who is currently in his home country Italy, made a phone call to the Three Lions’ danger man.

In the brief conversation, which was put on speaker, Conte told Kane that he made him and the Spurs fans proud.

“You made me and the Spurs fans proud,” stated the one-time Chelsea tactician.

Kane’s reply to his gaffer left the Tottenham Hotspurs’ players and staff in stitches.

He thanked Conte for the heart-warming gesture, but also cheekily requested him to give them a two-day off.

Although Kane did not get his wish at the end of the day, he had a reason to smile because Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini confirmed during the post-match press conference that the players were given a day off after dismantling Pep Guardiola’s star-studded side.
