
Kenyan teenage sensation Noah Kibet is the fastest man in 800m this year.
Kibet, an 18-year-old athlete, crossed the finishing line in 1:44.98 to win his discipline at Millrose Indoor Games staged in New York, United States on Saturday night, February 11, 2023.
The time that the one-time Diamond League winner clocked is also the national under-20 record.

Kibet was closely followed by the American duo of Isaiah Harris and Clayton Murphy at the Millrose Games.
Harris clocked a personal best time of 1:45.64 to register a second-place finish in a hotly contested race. Murphy, the 2016 Olympic gold medalist, settled for third place in 1:46.83.
This is not the first time that Kibet has stunned favourites to win a race in his promising career.
At the 2021 Kip Keino Classic staged at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, he outpaced a star-studded field to win the title in 1:44.97.
In another event, homeboy Yared Nuguse produced the most outstanding performance ever witnessed in the history of the event in 3,000m.
The 23-year-old finished the race in a time of 3: 47.38, in the process breaking the 15-year-old United States indoor record of 3:49.98 set by Kenyan-born Benard Lagat.
The runner who specializes in the 1,500m race also broke the facility record as well as the meeting record.
