Sigalagala TTI advanced to the FKF Cup round of 16 action after beating Kajiado North 4-3 on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at GEMS Cambridge as KCB earned a walkover against Transfoc FC.
The 1pm thriller saw Kajiado North start with an attempt for a goal in the first minute that went over the crossbar, making them wait a little longer for the lead goal.
Enock Ouma, determined to get Kajiado North the lead, steered an almost fruitful attack in the 4th minute after spotting Sigalagala TTI’s goalkeeper Pyris Nyanje out of the line, however, Sigalagala defender, Vincent Mulama cleared it off, maintaining scores at 0-0.
Sigalagala TTI got the lead through Mike Shivachi in the 15th minute. Five minutes later, Kajiado North’s December Kisaka missed the chance to equalize the scores by missing the target by inches.
However, in the 24th minute, Kisaka took the awarded corner kick to Kajiado North and landed it in the area where Kelvin Moses made the shot, equalizing the scores.
Sigalagala TTI regained their lead through Mike Shivachi’s brace in the 34th minute, and a minute later, his counterpart Samuel Otete added their third goal, closing the first half at 3-1.
Upon resumption, Sigalagala TTI failed to convert a freekick in the 78th minute after it landed directly at Kajiado North’s Goalkeeper Erick Amuhanda’s hands who shot it out for a corner kick. Two minutes later, they got their fourth goal through a Spencer Shisigani corner kick that Martin Ombewa converted.
In the 83rd minute, Kajiado North’s forward Bedan Amunabi managed to bag their second goal. At stoppage time, Kajiado North was awarded a penalty that Samuel Kapen converted, closing the scores at 4-3.
Meanwhile, KCB earned a walkover against Transfoc with Bungoma Superstars thrashing Nation Media 3-0 in Bungoma.
Nation FC Team Manager Elias Makori rued missed chances but also pointed out at poor officiating during the match.
"I have told my boys to relax, it is a learning process but to be honest the levels of officiating in this tournament are wanting," he told TeamKenya
FKF Premier league side Nairobi City Stars, Luanda Villa, , Vegpro, Mara Sugar also proceeded to the round of 16 action.
