After much uncertainty over the resumption of the top tier league, the Kenyan Basketball Federation has set Saturday June 12, as the resumption date with several matches lined up at the University of Nairobi grounds.
Opening the day after weeks of inactivity following the suspension of sports in March, Storms clash Strathmore University Swords.
The African bronze medalists Eagle Wings will then step onto the courts against Equity Bank, under the guidance of their new tutor Sylvia Kamau.
The final game of the day will pit Equity Bank against last year's runners up Thunder, led by indefatigable national team captain Griffin Ligare.
Eagle Wings will return to play Africa Nazarene University (ANU) in their second fixture as Storms also play their second game against UoN Dynamites.
Strathmore University will take on Zetech University Sparks in a varsity duel before giving room to an anticipated match between UoN Terrorists and Eldonets. Tony Ochieng's Strathmore University Blades will again confront Kenyatta University Pirates.
Initially the league was set to resume last month on May 15 only to be rescheduled for last weekend but this too failed to materialise.
The competition could not be conducted last weekend as the federation had given the clubs ‘short’ notice and there were no Covid-19 protocols in place to see the matches carry on .
As part of the return protocols, teams will be expected to screen their players for Covid-19 before taking the court.
