
The Kenyan athletes currently in bubble camps at the Kasarani stadium are the first batch of athletes to receive the second dose of the Covid 19 vaccine in the second phase of the rollout campaign by the Ministry of Sports and the ministry of health.
Sports cabinet secretary Amina Mohamed was at hand to aid in facilitating the exercise as she paid a visit to the Team Kenya at their bubble camp in Kasarani.
Amina narrated that the country’s leadership right from the top are interested in the proper preparation of the Olympics bound team to ensure that Kenya wins more medals and fly the Kenyan flag high at the Olympic Games in Japan.
The bubble camp has been set up at Kasarani where currently, the Kenya rugby sevens men’s team Shujaa, the rugby sevens women’s team Lionesses, the volleyball team Malkia Strikers, the boxers and taekwondo athletes are camping.
The Team Kenya athletes heading to the Summer games were eligible to get the second dose of the vaccine after having received the first one in April.
The International Olympic Committee has urged the various National Olympic bodies to help in ensuring that the athletes get vaccinated before taking part in the global showpiece in July.
National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) is working with the government in Team Kenya preparations as the government assured the olympians of fully supporting them in their quest for winning at Olympic games .
