Tusker FC on Tuesday lost grip on top spot after going down 1-0 to Posta Rangers in a Betking Premier League match played at the Ruaraka Grounds, Nairobi.

Coach Robert Matano was left stone faced after his side failed to utilise the huge chunks of possession to succumb to a late Joseph Lopaga goal.

Substitute Lopanga struck ten minutes from time to deny the 11-time champions the opportunity to extend their lead at the summit to go five points.

The loss was a huge blow to Matano who conceded that his team needed to do a lot to change the recent fortunes.

“This loss is slowing down the progress of the team but nothing is permanent. We still have some three matches and we are going to fight," said Matano.

Rangers coach Okumbi on the other hand praised his boys for earning a sweet revenge against the Brewers.

"It was a fair share because in the first leg, they beat us (4-1) in what was my first match with the team. I am happy the players have played according to instructions,” he said.

In the earlier kick off, Nairobi City Stars came from a goal down to beat Western Stima 2-1 at the Ruaraka Grounds.

Stima tasted first blood in the 39th minute when Rodgers Ouma tapped in from close range to finish off a Baron Oketch’s cross to give Juma Abdallah’s boys a deserved lead at halftime.

Erick Ombija managed to level the scores from close range for Nairobi City Stars in the 85th minute. Four minutes later, Peter Opiyo converted from the spot giving Nairobi City Stars in the lead, sealing the full time scores at 2-1.
