The Netherlands booked their spot in last 16 at Euro 2020 as they saw off Austria 2-0 in Amsterdam to win Group C with a game to spare.

Frank de Boer's side, who beat Ukraine 3-2 in their opening fixture, outclassed the visitors in front of 12,000 fans at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Winger Memphis Depay put the hosts ahead from the spot after David Alaba brought down  Denzel Dumfries, who capped a fine performance by adding the second from a swift break in the second half.

The Dutch, who failed to qualify for the past two major tournaments, are into the knockout stages at the European Championship for the first time since 2008.

In the earlier fixture, Belgium moments of genius from their second half substitutions to break Denmark hearts and qualify for the round of 16.

Kevin de Bruyne on as a substitute set up one and scored the other, changing the game in a 2-1 win.

De Bruyne came on at half-time and turned the game around, in his first appearance since suffering a fractured nose and eye socket in May's Champions League final against Chelsea.

The Manchester City man set up the equaliser with a brilliant and unselfish touch to beat two defenders before laying the ball onto Thorgan Hazard's way for an easy tap in.

De Bruyne then fired in an excellent winner after a nice pass from fellow star substitute Eden Hazard, Thorgan's brother.

The early kick off sawa Ukraine bounce back from their opening defeat at Euro 2020 as they held on to beat tournament debutants North Macedonia 2-1 in Bucharest.
