After weeks of speculation, World 1500m champion Timothy Cheruiyot has been included into the final list for the Tokyo Olympics.
The world champion has replaced Kamar Etyang who finished second in the TeamKenya Olympic trials in June.

Etyang failed to meet anti-doping rule requirements as required by the Athletics Integrity Unit.

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) rule 15, states that an athlete selected to represent a country ranked in category A in a major championships is required to have undergone three out-of-competition tests (urine and blood) 10 months prior to the competition.

Cheruiyot finished fourth at the Kenyan Olympic trials and will now team up with Charles Simotwo and Abel Kipsang in the hunt for gold in Tokyo.
The 25-year-old had been quoted saying that his bad performance during the national trials was due to family issues.
"I had a few issues like my hamstring injury and after also losing a relative in my family on the day of the Kenyan trials explaining why I missed out on making the team," said Cheruiyot.
Five days ago, Cheruiyot tore the field apart to win the men's 1,500m in a world-leading 3 minutes and 28.28 seconds during the Wanda Diamond League meet in Monaco. The win which also improved his PB was his third consecutive win in the Diamond League circuit this season after Doha and Stockholm.
US-based Moitalel Mpoke (400m hurdles) will also not compete at the Tokyo Games after failing to meet AIU regulations too.
