
Migori Youth pulled a surprising performance that saw them edge out Nairobi Stima, 2 goals to 1 in the Betika National Super League round 30 fixture on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Camp Toyoyo. Nairobi Stima looked quite sharp in the opening minutes especially when Fabish Otieno's cracking attempt at goal hit the woodwork. This wasn't all, right at the 11th minute, Nairobi Stima's Semo Samuel was almost clear in goal when Migori Youth's Peter Oyier came through with a saving tackle that shattered Nairobi Stima's hopes of scoring early.
Just when the match was getting sizzling hot, Migori Youth drew first blood in the 17th minute when Ben Stanley got the ball back in the net after a beautiful lobbed ball by teammate and skipper, Clifford Otieno. The Migori squad wasn't done, after smelling how frail Nairobi Stima were, they pounced yet again but this time through a free kick in the 35th minute. With a powerful shot from the free kick spot, Dickson Raila Second goal leading to the Halftime break.
Raila almost pulled another upset for Stima when he cruised past the defense but had his shot stopped by goalie, Dolph Owino. The game became a thrilling match up as Nairobi Stima put on an impressive show just to get back in the game. Time however was long gone when Nairobi Stima's John Njoroge was awarded a penalty 4 minutes past stoppage time. Njoroge managed to score, putting the game to rest, the scores reading 2-1, Migori taking the win.
