Betking Premier League leaders Tusker FC have been drawn in Pool B of the forthcoming Cecafa Kagame Cup slated for Tanzania from August 1 to 15.

The 11-time Kenya champions have been pooled alongside Tanzania’s Azam and South Sudan’s Atlabara which is being coached by Michael Nam and has former Tusker defender Joseph Shikokoti and former AFC Leopards keeper Lucas Indeche in their ranks.

Defending champions KCCA of Uganda have been placed in Pool A alongside Burundi’s Le Messanger Ngozi FC, and Zanzibar’s KMKM FC.

Former champions Express FC will be up against  Tanzania’s Yanga FC and Malawi’s Nyasa Big Bullets in Pool C.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) settled on Tusker over rivals Gor Mahia for the annual tournament, a move which sparked a lot of debate especially from the Gor Mahia camp.

FKF in a firm statement said that they settled on the Brewers because they are the team that will represent the country in the CAF Champions League next season.
