Joining Japanese J-1 side Vissel Kobe in March and barely a year later, Harambee Stars International, Ayub Timbe has announced his departure from the club through mutual agreement. Timbe through his Facebook account penned an emotional note explaining how family issues and lack of gametime immensely influenced his decision that sees him leave the club.

"I wish there was a better way to say this. But I'll just keep it as simple as it can be. Due to Family reasons and luck of playtime, the Club and I have had a mutual agreement to part ways. I wish it would have been different but sometimes life happens. I want to take this time say goodbye and thank you to the club, the entire staff and the fantastic supporters of vissel kobe. Thank you for the support and affection you have given me in such a small period of time. It was an honour and pleasure being a part of the Kobe family. I Wish you all the best and luck for the rest of the season. Until then keep safe, and we shall meet again.." wrote Timbe.

The 28 year old joined the Japanese side on March 1st 2021 and has only had 8 appearances with 2 assists. For the Kenyan, game has truly been a constant struggle even on his loan spell at Reading FC in England. At the Championship club, the winger was only limited to 5 appearances in a span of 6 months. The most minutes he clocked in a single match was against Luton Town where he played for 29 minutes.

For Timbe, he has shown small glimpses of what might emerge as an outstanding player if not one of Kenya's best exports but being at 28 and not enough game time in his CV, Timbe will be hoping to get back on the pitch and put in some good work after a not so great season, on and off pitch. Critics may also hint that these leagues don't prove much to improve a player due to the reputation of experienced players who fill the bulk of squads. Timbe has had the chance to play with the likes of Andreas Iniesta who has certainly reached the twilight of his career among many others.

Dennis Oliech once termed similar leagues as 'bogus' saying they form no basis to improve players. Has this been a probable case for Timbe, well only time will tell as we eagerly anticipate his return.
