
Football Kenya Federation has disbursed KES 45 Million to the 17 FKF Premier League clubs being monthly grants for the months of July, August, and September but AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia have had half of their grants deducted towards the settlement of the Ksh 10 Million incurred by the two clubs for failing to honor FKF PL match that was to be played on July 31, 2021.
In a statement, FKF said that the two teams will only receive half of their monthly club grants until they clear the fines imposed to them on August 1 by the federation.
In this regard, Gor Mahia will receive Ksh. 1,324,500 with AFC Leopards receiving Ksh. 1,124,500 as grants.
“In this regard, and in order to enable Gor to meet its obligation both at the federation and club level, Ksh. 1,324,500 will be transferred to your bank account immediately upon receipt of the requested documents while Ksh. 1,324,500 will be retained by the federation to go towards the partial settlement of Gor Mahia’s 4M fine,” part of the letter sent to Gor Mahia read.
For AFC Leopards, they have had slightly over Ksh 1.5 million retained by the federation.
“In this regard, and in order to enable AFC Leopards to meet its obligation both at the federation and club level, Ksh. 1,124,500 will be transferred to your bank account immediately upon receipt of the requested documents while Ksh. 1,524,500 will be retained by the federation to go towards the partial settlement of AFC Leopards 6 million fine and the subsequent settlement of KSh. 200,000 being AFC Leopards cash advance,” the letter sent to Leopards read.
FKF has meanwhile said that Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will be receiving only half of their monthly club grants until they clear the fines imposed on them.
Gor and Leopards Ksh. 4 million and Ksh. 6 million respectively for forfeiting the second leg of the Mashemeji derby.
All the other teams in the league will receive Ksh 2.6 million as grants from FKF.
