Tusker took a huge step towards lifting the FKF Premier League title after they secured a crucial 2-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz  on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Ruaraka Grounds.

Tusker took the lead in the 29th minute after Rodgers Aloro delivered a freekick in the danger area, which Henry Meja made an attempt for goal with a backheel attempt that forced Kakamega Homeboyz Francis Omondi to make a goal-line clearance that led to an own goal from Brian Eshihanda.

Michael Madoya extended the lead in the 40th when he  headed the ball to the back of the net after receiving a cross from Rodgers Aloro.

After the breather, Tusker FC made a triple substitution in the 56th minute replacing Kevin Otieno, Henry Meja, and Mike Madoya with Humphrey Mieno, Jackson Macharia, and Chris Ochieng respectively.

Kakamega Homeboyz brought in fresh legs in the 70th minute bringing in Fasnami Ojo for Francis Omondi.

Despite several attempts by Kakamega Homeboyz to pull one back Tusker’s defence stood still, ensuring that they earned another clean sheet

Tusker's win moved them to 61 points, three ahead of the bankers. A win for Tusker against Nzoia Sugar next week will move them closer to lifting the title.
