The Chinese Olympic Committee will offer a Covid vaccines to participants at the Tokyo Olympic Games and the winter Games in Beijing.

In a statement delivered to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach, the COC said that the vaccines will be available in time for the summer Games.

The cost for the additional doses will be catered for by the IOC.

"The IOC will pay for these additional doses of vaccines for the Olympic and Paralympic team," Bach said.
"For each of these doses, the IOC will pay for two doses more which can be made available to the population in the respective countries."

Meanwhile Tokyo 2020 chief Seiko Hashimoto has said  that no decision had been made on whether to allow foreign spectators to watch the Games in Japan.

It comes after reports this week stating fans from overseas would not be allowed to attend due to continuing concerns about the pandemic.
